Get Better with Acupuncture
Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) acupuncture (which can be traced back as far as 1000 BC) developed out of a concept of using needles inserted into the body as a means of balancing the movement and levels of 'Qi' (energy life force) an imbalance of Qi being associated with disease, pain or disability. Fine needles are inserted into particular points on the body to help restore the flow of Qi.

Recent research is now supporting the effectiveness of acupuncture, particularly in the management of pain. It has been demonstrated how pain responses can be affected by needling techniques.

Our Physiotherapists can use acupuncture to:
  • Help alleviate pain associated with acute injury
  • Help with long-term chronic pain such as arthritic pain, back and neck pain and headaches
  • Aid recovery from injury in conjunction with physiotherapy techniques
  • Alleviate muscular spasm to help restore correct movement
