Pilates is an innovative system of exercise evolving from the principles of Joseph Pilates. Developed in the early twentieth century, Pilates drew his method from Eastern practices and other disciplines and began using his method to rehabilitate WWI veterans. He then modified the style for injured dancers and so the modern day method was born.

Pilates is a mind body conditioning exercise programme that targets the deep postural muscles of the abdomen and spine to improve overall core stability and posture. Exercises encourage you to think about how you perform everyday movements. It heightens your body awareness, which in turn improves your overall agility, flexibility and strength. It helps you ensure your body is working at its optimal level all the time. Performed regularly, Pilates positively changes the body.
